Crushers club
Crushers Club is a non-profit located in Englewood that serves high-risk under under-invested young men between the ages 8 to 18. In a nutshell, they replicated the gang model but instead of crime and gins they use employment and a variety of programs that are WorkForce centered. They believe a job coupled with innovative programming is the number one deterrent to gang activity and juvenile crime. Currently, they employ 70 youths and have a waiting list.
Hospitality Training
The Crushers Kitchen in partnership with Exquisite Catering & Events, Chef Tiffany Williams provides basic hospitality training. Including but not limited to:
Sanitation, Basic knife skills, chopping, dicing etc. Assemble and pass hors d’oeuvres, Plating food items, Teach assembly line to plating meals, Cleaning including keeping workstation and spaces clean, sweeping, mopping, How to stay organized, How to set the tables with flatware and glassware as directed, serve guests food as directed, working as part of a team, Pass Hors D’oeuvres and professionally interact with the guests
workforce development
Hire, Train, and Develop the youth. We want to continue to expose our youth to various opportunities in the workforce. We know that the restaurant and hospitality industry touches every industry and career. It is great for entry-level positions that provide basic training and skills that can flow to any industry. We plan for our youth to start in various positions, continue to grow with the industry, and make the connections they will need for the next step in their careers.

Who are Crushers Kitchen Partners?
Crushers Kitchen Partners are restaurants, catering companies, and hospitality groups that partner with the Crushers Club to employ, teach, and create a sustainable and safe work environment for Crushers Club Youth. A buddy training system would be great for training vs. a printed manual. These partners work in agreement with the Crushers Club to ensure a better-fulfilled future and opportunity for the youth of Englewood and beyond to create a better Chicago.
